Information regarding California's Proposition 65

California’s Proposition 65 (Prop 65), also called the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, is a Right to Know law regarding Californians being able to make informed decisions to protect themselves from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The law requires that all businesses provide a ‘clear and reasonable warning’ if one or more listed chemicals may be present within the product, even if in trace amounts. This warning must include at least one chemical present within the product. To comply with this law, a warning will appear on all Most Modest products in the form of a packaging label, in the following format:

Most Modest products may contain traces of one or more of the 900+ listed chemicals. Exposure to these chemicals may occur during installation and/or use of Most Modest products and may be negligible or well within the “no significant risk” range. However, based upon knowledge regarding the presence of one or more listed chemicals, Most Modest has chosen to provide a warning without conducting exposure levels per product due to its complexity.

Washing your hands after handling these products can reduce your risk of exposure. Exposure can include the following:

      • Power supply cords, wiring and other parts made of PVC material may expose you to chemicals including phthalates like DINP, DEHP and/or lead
      • Product switches, lens material or other plastic parts, may expose you to chemicals including bisphenol A, phthalates like DINP, DEHP and/or polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB)
      • Plastic Tray parts may expose you to chemicals including Bisphenol A, Phthalates like DINP, DEHP and/or Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB)
      • Rubber feet may expose you to chemicals including 1.3-Dichioro Isopropyl Phosphate, 1.4-Dioxane, 1-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone, Acetaldehyde, Acrylonitrile, Benzophenone, Carbon Black, Chromium, Chromium (III) Compounds, Cobalt, Ethylene, Formaldehyde, Furan, Methyl Alcohol, Nickel Bis(2,4-Pentanedionato-o,O’)-(SP-4-1), Propylene Oxide, Silica Amorphous, Styrene, Titanium Dioxide and/or Toluene
